I don’t have French Heritage from California but if you do, read the history of Mokelumne Hill, California. There were many individuals from France there during the gold rush. Mokelumne Hill was one of the very largest communities in the early gold rush. Many are named in several histories and the census records are also great. There were even altercations between the French and other groups.
