Topic:  “Meyers Orts” has been the classic reference source for information about German cities, defining government, court, military and religious jurisdictions. As a result, Meyers has been a valuable tool for genealogists in locating offices which might hold important documents. We’ll explore the history of Meyers Orts and follow its development from old book volumes to today’s easily accessed English internet sites.

Speaker:  Ken Passé has been doing genealogy research for more than 20 years and has been fortunate to have visited his ancestral village in Germany several times. A self-professed maritime guy/waterfront rat, he has extended his research to touch upon shipboard travel from Europe to America.
