Wayne Ross announces that the Richland Family History Center is expanding its schedule to help you with your family history activities.  We are also planning a presentation for the January TCGS month meeting on the premium sites available at the FHC.  Our experienced genealogists can help you with your research.  We do require masks when working close to another individual but no longer require appointments. Tri-City Genealogical Society General Meeting November 10

Tri-City Genealogical Society’s annual business meeting will be held via Zoom on November 10, 2021 at 7 p.m.  On the agenda is approval of the proposed budget for 2022 and election of a slate of officers.  After the completion of the business portion of the meeting we will be streaming the video Investigative Genetic Genealogy – the Use of DNA for Law Enforcement as presented by Diahan Southard.  Diahan was the featured speaker at a TCGS seminar several years ago.

Peggy Clemens Lauritzen, AG, was involved in genealogy before she was even born. The daughter of avid genealogists, she was spending time in courthouses and cemeteries while other children were playing on swings and going to the beach. The love of her family’s history has never left her. With her experience as a former Family History Director, she is a frequent speaker at genealogical societies, workshops, seminars, and webinars where she loves bringing genealogy to life. Some of those would include The Ohio Genealogical Society, The Ohio State University, Brigham Young University, and many other state and local genealogy societies.  =========================This months meeting will be a little different than our previous Zoom meetings.  Jacqui Porter message above describes this month’s topic (Documenting and Sharing Family Histories with Stories and Photos) and provides a link to pre-register.  This month’s meeting is a webinar rather than a normal zoom meeting.  That means that the presenter sets up the meeting using their account and controls access to the presentation, thus you need to pre-register.  Once you pre-register you will receive an email with a link to the presentation.  Use that link like you have for our previous meetings and enjoy the presentation.
This will be the method we use next month as well.  Most of the purchased programs we will be providing operate in a similar manner.
