The National Speakers page is designed to help your society find a speaker of national prominence for a program or conference that you may be hosting. The links below are provided to help you find lists and directories for national speakers and to help you get in contact with these speakers. Some links will take you to directories that specifically list genealogical lecturers. Other lists are of professional genealogists. You will need to read their biographies to determine if their specialty will work for your society. Look on the website for a specialty search and location search. Another option is to just put "genealogy lecturer" in the Google search engine and see what comes up.
Association of Professional Genealogists (APG)
The APG website has a list of members. Under "Find a Genealogist", you can search for a speaker by selecting the "Speaking / Presenting" category. You can further limit the search to members who research a particular country.
Individual APG Chapters may have additional information about their members that might be helpful. (Not all APG members are part of a chapter.) The APG Chapters page lists all chapters and provides links to their website. Chapter representatives are available to assist you if you have a question. They might know of someone who would be a great speaker.
Board for Certification of Genealogists (BCG)
The BCG's "Find a Board-Certified Genealogist" website page has a list of members. Select the "Lecturer/presenter" research specialty to search for speakers, and select any geographic specialties that you are interested in.
Cyndi's List Links for Genealogical Speakers & Authors
Cyndi's List has a page for "Professionals, Volunteers & Other Research Services", on which you will find a "Speakers & Authors" section.
The GSG's website has a membership list where you can search by specialty and other categories.
The ICAPGen website has a "Find an AG Professional" section where you can search by various criteria.
