With our goal of $3,400, our total is now up to $1870 in donations!!
Send in a check made out to GFO with a note in the memo line “Reboot” to 2505 SE 11th, Suite B-18, Portland, OR 97202.

Canadian Genealogy Article
Dan Levin of The New York Times had a wonderfully inspiring article in the paper this last Sunday, June 25th.
Read numerous personal history stories from Canadians sharing their family’s earliest histories. The article is noted to be in honor of last Saturday’s 150th anniversary of Canada as a nation. The article is also noted to have the goal of giving voice to aboriginal peoples and their histories in the land now called Canada.
Do you have Canadian roots? Check out the GFO’s French Canadian collection at our catalog HERE.

“FamilySearch Digital Records Access Replacing Microfilm”
Over the years, FamilySearch has been working tirelessly to get more and more of its resources available online. And they’ve hit a saturation point!
Given their success in getting microfilms online for immediate use to researchers, FamilySearch announced on June 26th that they will be discontinuing their 80-year-old microfilm distribution service.
The last day for ordering microfilm to be sent to your local FamilySearch center will be August 31, 2017.
