The Bainbridge Island Genealogy Society (BIGS) Monthly Program for January will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022, 10AM-Noon, on Zoom.

Claire Smith will be presenting “Are You Really My Ancestor?”

A matching name isn’t enough to prove a relationship, especially if you have a common surname. In this session you’ll learn what it takes to prove a lineage, and how to handle conflicting information or multiple potential matches. We’ll explore cases that illustrate how to deal with these issues.

Claire has spent more than 20 years in genealogy research. We know her and her work quite well. You see, she used to live in these parts and is a past president, mentor, and webmaster for our society.
