To me, the “funny” thing about this 1923 marriage certificate is that Miss Hazel was obviously so proud to be IRISH. And her groom was proud of his Scotch-English-Irish “color or race.” And both were happy to be single!

It makes ME happy to see a marriage record where there is more than just names and “over 21!”
I noticed this was a license AND a certificate of marriage. If only the top portion is filled in then there is doubt that the couple married. Some people do not realize that a marriage license is only that—a license to get married. it doesn’t say they actually tied the knot.
