Treasures Raffle – Won’t you pitch in something nice?

Raffle

You’re invited to contribute to the Treasures Raffle. What is that?

Members donate new or gently-used items that may interest those who attend our seminar. Great examples of items donated in the past include scarves, hand-made tote bags, or even gift cards to our very own Ford Food + Drink.

It’s a pleasant change of pace during a conference to be able to look over the fun donations and drop a ticket into the bag to win one of the prizes. Drop off your donation to the GFO’s Treasures Raffle before March 10th, and thanks!!

What’s Happening this Week at the GFO?

DNA Basics – Saturday, February 27th, 9:am – noon

Genetic Genealogy is the most accurate tool a genealogist has. If you are prepared to discover whether your genealogical paper trail is accurate, and if you are willing to take some time outside of our meetings to reinforce what you learn at each session, the new GFO Beginners DNA Interest Group is for you. Please bring a copy of the presentation material to class (download HERE), and email questions to Emily Aulicino at aulicino@hevanet.com.

Italian Interest Group – Saturday, February 27th, 1pm – 3pm

Ciao to everyone interested in Italian genealogy research. This is a great opportunity to learn, share, and enjoy others with a common interest. Italian genealogy research in the Portland area now has a home. Come join our group. Facilitated by Keith Pyeatt.

Library Work Party – Sunday, February 28th, 9am – noon.

There’s another work party at the GFO library today for those of you who can come. There’s lots to do and we’d love to have your help. Doors open at 9 and work usually wraps up around noon. Some people come for just an hour or so and you’re welcome to do the same. Any time you can share is valuable. Hope to see you there!

Learn & Chat – Wednesday, March 2nd, 10am – noon.

Join us to talk about your genealogy questions and help provide support to others. Facilitated by House Histories expert, Connie Lenzen.

DNA Q&A – Wednesday, March 2nd, 1pm – 2pm.

Didn’t get enough at Saturday’s DNA Basics class? Lisa McCullough will be available to help answer your DNA questions at her regular bi-monthly Wednesday group. Whether you are new and just getting started or have more involved questions, Lisa is always happy to help!
