Tri-City Genealogical Society January Meeting

Dear Members and Guests:
Don’t forget to attend our next TCGS meeting which will be this coming Wednesday, January 10th as our guest speaker, Heather Murphy will give a presentation on Tracing Female Ancestors.
 
Place: Benton County PUD Auditorium at the corner of Hwy #395 and 10th Street in Kennewick
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Beginning Genealogy Class: 6:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. (Why Finding the Original is so Important)
Genealogy Book Sale – bring your checkbook or a supply of one dollar bills as we will not have the means to provide change.

Genealogy Book Sale: We plan to resume our genealogy book sale at the Jan 10th meeting. For purchases, we ask that you either write a check or bring one dollar bills as we will not have any money to provide change for you.  Also, if you have any genealogical books/magazines and related history books that you would like to donate, this would be wonderful. Please be advised that we may want to give priority to such books for inclusion in the TCGS Library.
TCGS Board Meetings:
Members are encouraged to attend the TCGS Board Meetings which are held on the 1st Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Richland Family History Center.
Membership Renewal Dues:

2. Bring your homemade or store bought Christmas goodies to share

Our December 13th meeting will be at the Benton County PUD Auditorium in Kennewick on the corner of Hwy #395 and 10th Street.
Beginning Genealogy Class: Genealogy Education – 6:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
Program: 7:00 p.m.
Show Off Your Heritage
 
Members and guests are asked to bring items about your family heritage/history as well as what you interests you have.
1. Photographs
2. Documents
3. Family heirlooms, antiques
4. Hobbies, collections or recreation interests
Your legacy will one day be handed down to your children/grandchildren/great-grandchildren and they will want to know what hobbies and collections you had as a child/teenager or as an adult. So, bring whatever you use to collect or still collect or photographs or a sample of what you use to collect as a kid/young adult.
You can display your family photographs and documents on a poster or a tri-fold or on the table.
This will be a fun event for everyone to have a glimpse of your family history as well as the antiques/heirlooms, hobbies and collections that you either inherited or have or previously engaged in.
Heather Murphy will bring her “ShotBox” to demonstrate as well as for anyone to use, so please bring your own cell phone or a smart phone which may be even better. Please bring your own photos/small items to be photographed. For more information/description of the ShotBox, please see their website:

Please bring homemade or store bought cookies, candies, fudge, muffins, quick breads (banana, zucchini, apple, pumpkin), cake, etc.  Beverages of water and/or 7-up/Sherbet will be provided.

Hello TCGS Members and Guests:

Would you like to highlight and display something about your ancestral history?

Would you like to display a collection that you inherited from one of your ancestors?

Would you like to display an heirloom, antique or vintage item that was handed down from your ancestors?

Would you like to display a personal hobby or a collection you had from the past or currently engaged in?

 

If so, this is what our December 13th meeting will be all about. We want you to share with us via photographs, documents and a display of family anitques/heirlooms and hobbies and collections. Hobbies and collections of the past are very much part of your ancestral legacy, but your personal past/current hobbies and collections will also become a family legacy to your descendants.

Please consider what you would like to bring to this meeting to display. This will be fun to get to know more about you or your ancestors.

Also, we are asking each of you to bring either homemade or store bought Christmas cookies, candies, fudge, muffins, or breads (banana, zucchini, apple, pumpkin, etc.) to share with one another.
