Monday’s Mystery

Today’s Question is a “fun” memory question:  How many feet did Mt.St.Helen’s lose on that Sunday, May 18, 1980? And do you remember what YOU were doing that day?

A WSGS cupcake goes to Pam Hert for the correct answer to last week’s mystery question: What year did the Ellensburg Rodeo begin? It was 1923.  Good for you, Pam.

My.St. Helens lost about 1,300 feet on May 18. We were getting ready for church when the mountain blew, but we didn’t have the radio or TV on, so we didn’t know about it until a friend called us later in the day.

I believe Mt. St. Helen lost about 500 feet on May 18, 1980.

My husband, daughter and I had just arrived in Dhaka (Dacca) Bangladesh. We were sent by Seattle based Research and Development organization and had just started 3 months of Bangla language school.
