There’s still time to renew your Fred Meyer Rewards!

Fred

Don’t forget to renew your Fred Meyer Rewards Card before the deadline on July 1st! That’s in just two days!!
Fred Meyer Community Rewards Customer Re-enrollment is happening all through the month of June. Yep. That means right now!

If you’ve had your Fred Meyer’s Rewards Card linked to the GFO since last year, you will need to re-link your Rewards Card before July 1, 2016. Please note that Fred Meyer will assume you’ve had enough if they don’t hear from you, and they will drop from the program any households that don’t re-enroll before the July 1 deadline.

If you do miss the deadline, you may still re-link your Rewards Card online after the re-enrollment period by visiting www.fredmeyer.com/communityrewards.

Where Did You All Come From?? The GFO Stars for July 2016 are our wonderful Research Assistants Team!

Stars

Would You Like to Join the Research Assistant Team?

You don’t need to be a seasoned researcher to volunteer. While you are volunteering you’ll learn about our collection and resources which will help you further your own research.

An RA will greet and assist patrons who visit our library. This might mean helping someone search on Ancestry.com, finding a book on the shelf, or collecting money for a book sale. An interest in helping people is the key to enjoying this position! There are occasional phone calls that come into the library that you’ll answer, too.

Training is provided by an experienced volunteer and until you learn the ropes you’ll be paired with a more experienced RA. Most RAs commit to one four-hour shift a week, but some work only once a month. We must have two volunteers working any time we are open, so any gift of your time is appreciated.

If you’re interested in this volunteer work, contact Cathy Lauer at volunteer@gfo.org or 503-963-1932.

Didn’t you know you were invited? Of course you were! It’s the GFO’s Annual Membership Picnic for garsh-sake!!

Picnic

It’s never too early to save the date.
September 18, 2016, ’til the swans kick us out

The picnic will be a potluck at Mt. Scott Park. Bring hot dishes, salads, desserts or other food. Sadly, we will not be able to cook hamburgers or hot dogs at the site this year, so please bring lots of dishes to share if you could! The GFO will provide lemonade and iced tea, and we plan to eat around 1 pm.

Things to know: No smoking or use of tobacco in any form, or alcoholic beverages are allowed in the park.

More information will be provided closer to the event. Dancers in tutus are still being negotiated.

Address: SE 72nd Ave & Harold St. in Portland.
