The washtubs in the back look like the washtubs my grandma used when she washed. She had a wringer washer with a roller on the side to squeeze the soapy water from the clothes. Then she had two washtubs full of very hot water to rinse the clothes before running through the rollers again, then outside to the clothes lines in the back yard to dry
