Be sure to lock in your early-bird discount by 18 March for the NGS 2022 Family History Conference in Sacramento, California, 24-28 May.
 
Early-bird discounts are available to those who plan to attend the conference in person. After 18 March, the price of registration for NGS members will increase from $245 to $295 for all four days. Non-members will pay $345, up from $295.
 
All attendees will receive the Conference Compendium, which includes the program, syllabus, exhibitor information, and more, about two weeks before the conference begins in PDF format. Available exclusively to early-bird registrants is the option to purchase a USB of the Compendium for ten dollars.
 
If you need to cancel your registration for any reason prior to 18 April, you will receive a complete refund minus a $50 service fee.
 
If you are unable to attend the in-person conference, you may want to register for our Online at Home virtual conference, 27-28 May, or purchase a twenty or forty session On-Demand package of conference lectures.

This year NGS is offering registrants three ways to participate: In-Person in Sacramento, California, 24-28 May; Online at Home, 27-28 May; and On-Demand, 1 July through 31 December 2021. Dear Friends at Washington State Genealogical Society,

We are so excited about this year’s virtual Focus on Societies program that we are offering societies a special group discount of more than 42% off the regular registration fee. Focus on Societies is virtual 21 May 2021.
 
Register five representatives by 12 May for Focus on Societies and you will pay only $20 per person. That’s $15 off the registration fee of $35 per person and a total discount of $75.

NGS is offering such a generous discount to insure that your officers and staff can attend all twelve lectures in three separate breakout sessions. Registrants also will be able to access the lectures on-demand in mid-June.

NGS Annual Meeting

In conjunction with the 2021 Virtual Family History Conference, and instead of our traditional in-person gathering (for the second year in a row), the 2021 Annual Meeting will be hosted online. The meeting will be held at 5:15 pm ET on Wednesday, 19 May 2021. Additional details on how to access the meeting will be provided at www.ngsgenealogy.org. You do NOT need to register for the Family History Conference to attend.  
Speakers will include NGS President Kathryn Doyle; Treasurer Deborah Lebo Hoskins; Vice President of Society & Organization Management Cheri Hudson Passey; Membership Chair Bernice Bennett; board member Andre Kearns; and Executive Director Matt Menashes, CAE.
 
If you are unable to join us on 19 May you will be able to view a recording via our YouTube channel at a later date.
 
The purpose of the Annual Meeting is: to provide updates on the direction of the National Genealogical Society, including information about new programs and activities focused on genealogy organizations following the completion of the merger with the Federation of Genealogical Societies last October to provide a financial update to take questions from attendees. Genealogy societies provide an indispensable and invaluable service to aspiring and experienced genealogists alike. Continuous development of volunteer leaders is necessary for every society to not only survive, but also to thrive and grow membership.
 
Focus on Societies, the National Genealogical Society (NGS) all-day virtual program on 21 May, offers an excellent opportunity for genealogy societies. Current society leaders will learn new management strategies, and attendance may encourage other society members to step up to serve on a committee or the board.
 
Registration for individuals is $35 for the 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. event, or take advantage of the NGS group rate of $100 to register up to five society members.
